HOW TO MAKE CORNBREAD

Cornbread is a popular item in America cooking enjoyed by many people for its texture and aroma. It can be baked, fried or, rarely, steamed. You can try this at home. It is delicious.

Ingredients For Cornbread

2 cups yellow cornmeal
2 tablespoons white sugar
½ teaspoon salt
2 cups yellow cornmeal
1 large egg
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 teaspoons baking powder
1½ cup milk
1 tablespoon butter
Direction

Add the cornmeal, sugar, salt, egg, vegetable oil, milk in a large bowl and stir to mix well. Allow it settles for 20 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 400°F (about 200°C). Add the baking powder to the batter and mix well. Grease the baking pan lightly with butter all over the bottom and the sides (you can use any size and shape of baking pan depends on you). Pour the batter inside the pan.
Bake for 30 to 40 minutes to done or until brown. You can check it by using a toothpick and insert it into the center of the loaf comes out clean. Remove from the oven. Turn the pan upside down to pull out the cornbread. Allow it to cool for 10 minutes.
Then Cut into bite size pieces and serve.
You can store the leftovers in a plastic bag and place it in a refrigerator. Bring it out any time you want and reheat it in a microwave oven.
